Photography Tips

I hope you enjoy the photos on my site.  Food photography is a 2nd passion of mine, along with cooking food, eating food, and writing about food (pretty much every part of this blog).  I don’t claim to be a professional, but I do strive to take great photos, and absorb as much information as I can to learn techniques and better my photography skills.  I am FASCINATED by photography and specifically, photographing food.  I’d like to think that as I’ve progressed in my blogging that my picture taking skills have improved immensely (just check out some of my earlier posts like this one to see what I mean), and most of that is due to some awesome tutorials and sites that I have come across along the way, since I have never had any formal instruction. I also have a photography blog if you are curious in my photographing adventures as I try to develop my skills, though it is mostly nature/scenery rather than food.  But many principles are the same, except that one doesn’t have as much control over things like lighting.

However, sometimes one happens to be in exactly the right place at the right time, realizes they actually have their camera with them, and manages to capture a sight like this:

But this page is about photographing food, not old rustic barns glistening in the last dying rays of sunlight before a coming storm.  Below is a list of the resources that have been the most help to me, and may be useful to those of you who are also in love with taking pictures of food, and want to get better:
