Paleo Turkey Hash by Elana of Elana’s Pantry (used with permission)
Happy November!
As you may or may not know, last month over Halloween a superstorm hurricane named Sandy ravaged the northeast coast of the United States. My friend Barb and I held an event earlier in the month to call for donations to the Red Cross and other organizations that would help out the victims, asking you all to post about comfort food and ways to help donate. I was humbled beyond words as I read each of your stories (yes, all 100 of them!) outpouring your emotions and experiences, seeing the generosity of spirit and heart of so many who were willing to help out the victims of this storm.
So for this month’s naturally gluten free links, I wanted to continue the theme of comfort food – whether it be posting comforting recipes from the Support for Sandy event, tasty holiday dishes or ways to use your Thanksgiving leftovers, this month is about comfort, dedicated to all those who have suffered/are suffering from that deadly storm. While the news stations may have moved on to tales of Black Friday and holiday trimmings, there are many still suffering who lost literally everything they own in the flood. I’ll be leaving up the donation badge to the Red Cross in the sidebar of my blog for a while, please consider donating to help out over the holiday season. I want to thank each and every one of you who participated in some way, whether that be making a post to encourage donations, making a donation towards Sandy relief efforts yourself, or even simply sending thoughts and prayers out to those in need.
If you are new to my monthly links event, at the end of each month I make a post highlighting my favorite naturally gluten free recipes that I find from across the blogosphere. The blogs may not all be gluten free, but these particular recipes are. So on to the great looking food!
