Tonight I made this beautiful tart from one of my favorite cookbooks:
This book is the Stonewall Kitchen Harvest book, which focuses on the traditions of Maine and various dishes correlated with the seasons.
This recipe was a 5-onion tart, made with onion, shallot, scallion, leek and garlic. I added in some mushrooms as well, cause they needed using and I thought they would work. The recipe has you mix it in a cream sauce with crushed bacon and some gruyere. Pour it all into your tart pastry crust, and bake and enjoy!!
Note – I used a spring-form pan because I don’t own a tart pan, and while I am clearly no good at making crust aesthetically pleasing, it worked great. I could’ve let it brown just a little bit longer, but this worked just fine.
